A Letter From The [Old] Owner

I am the first to admit that I am a terrible writer and oftentimes what I know I want to say I can’t portray on paper. I have written, deleted, written, and edited this post so many times, but I’ve decided to just go for it, so here it is...after four amazing years of making my small dream become a big reality I oftentimes sit back and am in awe of where Something White Bridal Boutique has come.

I have been lucky enough to be a part of so many women’s love stories. I’ve laughed with brides and their families. I’ve cried with brides who have lost a family member who couldn’t be there to dress shop with them. I’ve prayed over future marriages. I’ve helped hundreds of brides find their dream wedding gown. I’ve smiled so hard that my face hurts for an entire day. People always say, “you must have the most fun job in the world” and to that my answer is yes, but I want to let you in on a secret - owning a business is hard. So to all you business owners out there I want to give you a shout out because you are amazing. You are strong and you are making it happen even when you don’t feel like you have any pieces of the puzzle matching up.

So why the sentimental post? Because as of today, I have passed the torch of Something White Bridal Boutique onto another. I will still be a familiar face in the future, but I will be stepping back to rekindle my own marriage and to spend more time with my daughter. I could go on and on and become a complete blabbering mess, but I will spare you. Instead I want to thank you. Thank you to all of the brides who have trusted me to be a part of your wedding day. Thank you to all of their friends and families who have referred us. Thank you for all of the vendor support from an amazing community of wedding professionals in Kansas City. Each and every one of you is responsible for changing me in some way or fashion. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for the memories that I will cherish forever.

This announcement is bittersweet, but I am excited for this next chapter not only for Something White Bridal Boutique, but for me personally as well. I know you’re dying to know who the new beauty and brains behind the boutique is, but you will have to come back tomorrow to read a welcome post from the new boss babe herself.

XOXO,
Brittany

  1. I can say without a doubt that finding my dress at your boutique was my FAVORITE part of the pre-wedding process and it was all because of you. We will celebrate our second anniversary this month and I still sing your praises. I even told my husband if we moved back to KC I secretly wished to work with you. You were a complete joy. Though I don’t know your day to day life, I applaud you for taking a step back when you need to. It takes courage. Praying this is a season of rest and deep joy for you and your family and that you realize just how many lives you have touched by just being you!
