REAL BRIDE: Jana

Alan & Jana Burns

9.24.2016

Alongside her groom, Alan, Something White bride, Jana was beaming from start to finish on her wedding day (you know how we feel about a happy bride and a stunning couple who just can't stop smiling)! Whether you take style tips, reception inspiration, or even just attitude goals from this free-spirited couple, we have a strong feeling you're going to love their day - almost as much as we do. Keep scrolling to feel all of the feels!

What made you want to get married on September 24th?

"We decided to get married on September 24th because we wanted to get married in the fall and as soon as possible! We got engaged on December 19th and figured nine months was a sufficient amount of time to plan."

"It all turned out so lovely and was a day
overflowing with love, gratitude, and holy joy."

Where did you draw inspiration & ideas from?

"We mostly drew inspiration from Pinterest. We got lucky & chose the very first vendors we met with - each of them were really able to capture our vision for the day & were great to work with."

Did you have a certain theme you wanted to incorporate for your big day?

"We both love Colorado & the outdoors, so we tried to incorporate some earthy feels into our reception venue while rocking the city scape. Merging the two together was a fun challenge, & I may be biased, but I think it turned out beautiful!"

What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?

"So many to choose from! Our first look was a such a moment of joy for us! We exploded with relief & happiness when we embraced in that moment. Sharing the sacrament of marriage was our absolute favorite part - our mass was full of people who have been very intentionally apart of our story throughout the years. The dance party at the reception was a blast - which was so important to us."

What advice would you give to other brides?

"Take moments throughout the day to step back, take in the scene, & be grateful. I can thankfully say I remember every part of our day - & I am so glad. Smile & enjoy! It is the start of the very best adventure."

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Burns!
Thank you for sharing your smile-inducing wedding with us!
Wishing you joy and love every day in this start of the very best adventure.

REAL BRIDE: Samantha

Anthony & Samantha Davis

10.8.2016

A wedding filled with love, family, and unique touches - from brunch, to a sunrise first look - Anthony & Samantha's wedding day was one to remember. We love the couples brass details, pheasant feathers, & of course, Samantha's stunning Amy Kuschel gown! Swoon away.

What made you decide to get married on October 8th?

"Fall is our favorite time of year, so we knew we wanted our special day to be in one of the fall months. We chose early October so we could still have fall colors & weather, without it being too cold outside for us. We wanted to take advantage of the scenery during our sunrise/early morning photos & our outdoor gazebo ceremony."

What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?

"Getting to spend the entire day with the one's we love most - from getting ready in the wee hours of the morning with our wedding party, to the evening bonfire & yard games with our guests who stayed the night - & everything in between! It was a perfect day."

Mr. & Mrs. Davis chose a color pallet including blues, peach, ivory, brass, and cranberry for their wedding & tied their big day together with features like lace, brass candle sticks & animal figurines, lots & lots of candles, pheasant feathers, pinecones, & (our favorite) confetti!

Where did you draw inspiration & ideas from?

"We loved the idea of having our wedding in the morning so that everyone traveling in from out of state could come, enjoy our event, & then have the rest of the day & weekend to relax, unwind, & have fun! We figured we couldn't go wrong with brunch because it's the best meal of the day! We wanted everything to feel somewhat nostalgic & a little whimsy. Our goal was to do so while incorporating the coziness of fall elements & textures. We ended up creating inspiration boards on Pinterest to help us organize our thoughts & then we sent them to our vendors so that they could get an idea of what we were looking for."

What advice would you give to other brides?

"Plan out your details ahead of time, so you don't end up stressing on your big day. It's your day, let yourself enjoy every minute of it with the ones you love!"

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Davis!
Wishing you a lifetime of love & laughter. Thank you for sharing your big day with us & for being a part of the Something White family.
