This real SW wedding is giving us some serious helpings of pretty! Ron & Valerie tied the knot during a countryside wedding in Spring Hill, Kansas, complete with organic florals & an intimate atmosphere. The couple & their guests celebrated the beginning of forever & the grooms birthday while enjoying an outdoor ceremony & a reception complete with florals & foliage & a sweet treat spread. How did the two of you meet?

"Ron is from Kentucky & I am from Kansas City. We were set up on a blind date through mutual friends. I knew very soon into things that we were meant to be together. We dated briefly & then quickly decided to make it forever!"

How did you ask your girls to be bridesmaids?

"I created a box full of goodies for them. I made one for each special lady that included confetti, champagne, ring pops, & other fun things! I also included a shirt for each of them along with a special card. The boxes really challenged my inner creativity!"

Where did you draw your inspiration & ideas from?

"Mostly Pinterest & looking at previous weddings on The Knot. The Knot had a lot of great resources that we utilized. The wedding planner app & the wedding checklist kept me on track."

What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?

"Every moment of our day was so special but the moment I saw Ron at the altar waiting for me was pure bliss. We did not do a first look so this was our moment & it was totally worth the wait. Nothing else matters in that moment & I realized this is what I have waited for & all of these people here love us so much. It was a very special moment."

What advice would you give to other brides in regards to dress shopping?

"When dress shopping, be prepared. You may fall in love with a dress that is the total opposite of all the hundreds of Pinterest pins you thought you wanted. When it makes you feel beautiful & you don’t want to take it off, it’s the one! I loved my dress & so did my husband, that’s what matters. Also, just general wedding advice, take moments during your day to appreciate how amazing it is to have all these people you love in one place & really look at each person. It goes so fast! Enjoy every minute!"

Did you have a specific theme in mind while you were planning?

"We knew we wanted a small wedding & we knew we wanted our colors to be creams & golds. Our friends & family made a lot of our decorations which really helped. My parents even made custom tables for cocktail hour! Our ideas were truly brought to life by our florist Kayli who was so kind. She made us AMAZING hanging floral arrangements. We loved everything she brought to the table!"

What made you decide to get married on July 7th?

"This wonderful date is also my husband’s birthday! It also happened to be our nieces’ birthday too. It was great to be able to sing happy birthday to them & make the day seem even more special."
